The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Wilbert Hartings
Wilbert L. "Whitey" Hartings age 84 of Maria Stein, Ohio died on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born on December 19, 1937 in Maria Stein to the late Lawrence & Leona (Hemmelgarn) Hartings. He married Rosemary Post on February 27, 1960 in St. Peter Church, St. Peter, Ohio, and she survives in Maria Stein.
He is also survived by children: Don & Denise Hartings Chickasaw, Therese & Tom Lochtefeld, Ft. Recovery, Paul & Becky Hartings, Maria Stein, Roger & Carla Hartings, Maria Stein, Ruth & Alan Brown, New Bremen, Charles & Kay Hartings, Maria Stein, Ken & Maggie Hartings, Fort Recovery, Steve & Jennifer Hartings, Maria Stein, 23, grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, brothers & sisters: Dolores Schulze, St. Henry, Frank & Ginny Mohlman, Coldwater, Rosemary & Linie Lefeld, St. Henry, Rich Hartings, St. Marys, Ron & Karen Hartings, Maria Stein, Janice & Tom Grieshop, Franklin.
He was preceded in death by grandson David Hartings, brothers, sisters & in-laws: Walter Schulze, Eileen & Erwin Schulze, Norma Mohlman, Linda Hartings, and John & Wilma Post.
Wilbert was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, a member of Maria Stein, Knights of St. John and a member of the Men's Sodality. He was a lifelong milk hauler, farmer and avid card player who enjoyed spending time with his family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Friday, April 29, 2022 at St. Rose Catholic Church, St. Rose. Burial will take place in St. Rose Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry from 2 to 7 PM on Thursday, April 28, 2022 and from 9 to 10 AM on Friday.
Donations may be made to the family to be donated to different church projects.
