The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Louis Badgett Jr.
Louis B. Badgett Jr., age 57, of Celina, Ohio, died on Sunday Morning, May 8, 2022.
He was born December 11, 1964 in Coldwater, to the late Louis Sr. & Anna Catherine (Russell) Badgett.
He is survived by siblings and in-laws: Russ & Bev Badgett of Celina, Terry Badgett of Sevierville, Tennessee, Bonnie Jones of Waco, Texas, Steve & Mary Ann Badgett of Ft. Recovery, Mary Rindler of Franklin, Massachusetts, William Badgett of North Augusta, South Carolina and nieces and nephews.
He was a 1983 graduate of Coldwater High School. First Sergeant Louis Badgett joined the United States Marine Corp on March 28, 1985, where he served honorably for 4 years. He later joined the Ohio Army National Guard and served 28 active-duty years with valor, which included multiple deployments where he was awarded 3 Meritorious Service medals, 2 Commendation medals, 5 Achievement medals to name a few. First Sergeant Badgett was awarded a total of 36 medals over his distinguished career. Louie enjoyed spending his off time in nature, hunting, fishing, camping and spending time on the water. Louie was a Senior Air Monitoring Technician for Battelle Memorial Institute working at the US Army Depot in Pueblo, Colorado.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater. Burial will be 9 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Dayton National Veterans Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM and Friday from 9 to 10 am at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater, Ohio.
