The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Michael Grieshop
Michael "Mike" L. Grieshop, 77, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater, Ohio.
He was born on June 30, 1945, in St. Mary's, Ohio, to the late Otto and Mary (Barga) Grieshop.
Mike is survived by his long-time companion, Peggy Klefeker of Portland, Indiana; his sons, Christopher (Jodi) Grieshop of Portland, Indiana, and Jonathan (Stacey) Grieshop of Fort Recovery, Ohio; the mother of his son's, Barbara (Fullenkamp) Grieshop, of Portland, Indiana; his granddaughters, Hayley (Nate) Grieshop of Anderson, Indiana, and Carly (Tyler) Grieshop of Portland, Indiana; his great granddaughter, Leanna; his siblings, Charlotte (Arthur) Bruggeman of Maria Stein, Ohio, Joe (Margie) Grieshop of Harlem, Kentucky, Jim (Kay) Grieshop of Celina, Ohio, and Francis (Donna) Grieshop of Chickasaw, Ohio; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Mike was a 1961 graduate of Marion Local High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1963 and served his country honorably until he was discharged in 1967. Mike worked for Stamco in New Bremen and drove semi for several years until he became a full-time farmer. He continued to farm until he was in his early 70's. He was a member of the Fort Recovery VFW and enjoyed going to truck pulls.
Guests may visit with Mike's family on Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. The visitation will conclude with a military service conducted by the Fort Recovery American Legion Honor Guard.
