The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Lisle Wendel
Lisle Laverne "Vern" Wendel, age 78 of Celina, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville.
He was born on December 21, 1944 to the late Lisle and Norma (Gehm) Wendel in Chattanooga. On May 6, 1967, he married Kathleen Harner who survives in Celina.
He is also survived by his children Chris Wendel of Celina, Lori (Chad) Schmitmeyer of Celina, Greg (Jennifer) Wendel of Tampa, FL, Angie (Brian) Cox of Celina, Derek (Selina) Wendel of Celina, Leah (Matt) Salzmann of Celina, seventeen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, sister Linda Rogers of Sebring, FL, half-brother Kevin (Teresa) Wendel of St. Marys, sisters-in-law Linda Wendel of Celina, Sue Adams of Celina, Judy Wilson of St. Marys, step sister Amy (John) Bubp of St. Marys and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister MaryAnn (John) Roberts, brothers Larry Wendel, Gary Wendel, Terry Wendel, sister Koni Stefano, brother Doug Wendel, brother-in-law Herman Rogers and step brother Wayne Wilson.
Lisle proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era in Germany. He retired from Chrysler in Van Wert. He was a member of the Celina Eagles, Moose Lodge, V.F.W. Post #5713, American Legion Post #210. Lisle enjoyed being around people, playing volleyball, and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved boating and spending time on the lake with his friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, June 2, 2023 at the Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home, with Rev. Mick Whistler officiating.
Friends and family may call from 3:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 1, 2023 and an hour before services on Friday at the Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home. Condolences may be shared with the Wendel family online at LehmanDzendzelFH.com.
