The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

William Gusching
William Ralph Gusching, age 63, of Thelma Drive, Minster/Filburns Landing, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024, at the Heritage Manor Nursing Center in Minster. Ohio.
He was born February 19, 1961, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late Richard & Mary Jane (Vogelsang) Gusching.
Surviving are four children: Ryan & Leslie Gusching of Strongsville, Kate Gusching of Columbus, Steven Gusching of San Diego, CA, and Michael Gusching of Troy; three grandchildren; four siblings: Robert & Kyle Gusching of Minster, Mark & Linda Gusching of Minster, Donald & Lynn Gusching of Fort Loramie and Ann & Mitchell Eiting of Versailles along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.     He was preceded in death by one infant sister, Mary Jo Gusching.
Mr. Gusching was a 1979 graduate of Fort Loramie High School and attended St. Michael Church with his family where he received all of his sacraments of initiation. Bill was a skilled machinist by trade, and over the years, had been employed at several local machine shops. Bill was also an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, the Cincinnati Reds and The Beatles.
A public Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Thursday, October 24, 2024, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie with Rev. Andrew Reckers presiding. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Grand Lake Hospice or charities of choice. Private condolences may be expressed at the gehretfuneralhome.com website.
