The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

James Barrett
James Barrett, Jr, age 71, of Fort Loramie, Ohio, passed away on December 23, 2024, at home. He was born on August 18, 1953 in Allentown, PA to the late James, Sr. & Dorris (Wentzel) Barrett. He married Vickie Dues on May 24, 1996 in Clearwater, FL and she survives in Fort Loramie.
He is also survived by sister Norma Jean & Rich Rush, Gilbertsville, PA, mother-in-law Juanita Dues, Minster, in-laws: Jerry & Becky Dues, sister-in-law Margaret Dues, Minster, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Joyce & Dave Blackwell, father-in-law Irvin Dues and brother-in-law Dale Dues.
Jim retired from Crown Equipment in Quality Control. He was a tool maker and avid wood worker.
Private funeral services will take place at a later date.
