The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Brandon Eshleman
Brandon Mitchell Eshleman, 39, of Toledo, OH (formerly of St. Marys, OH) died 4:03 p.m. Monday October 13, 2025 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Toledo, OH.
He was born January 6, 1986 in St. Marys, OH to James L. and Barbara (Quickle) Eshleman.
Survivors include his father James (Erinn) Eshleman of St. Marys, OH; sister Amanda (Thomas) Young of St. Marys, OH; paternal grandmother Shirley Eshleman of St. Marys, OH; step-brother Joshua Coleman of Lima, OH; step-sister Kaitlyn (Ken) Kirtley of St. Marys, OH; members of his extended family which includes nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and significant other Melissa Crapsey and her children, Kyle Stripling and Kaylee Stripling.
Preceded in death by his mother Barbara Quickle-Eshleman; paternal grandfather Norman Eshleman; and maternal grandparents Harold and Lillian Quickle.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 2004). He worked as a production employee in the automotive industry in Toledo. Brandon was a fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and enjoyed all types of auto racing. He was fond of animals (especially, cats).
Friends and family are invited to share in a Time of Remembrance and Celebration of Life scheduled from 1 - 5 p. m. Saturday October 18, 2025 at the American Legion Post # 323 (2880 Celina Road) in St. Marys.
Attendees are encouraged to dress casually.
Contributions may be directed to his family to assist with final expenses.
