CELINA - Since joining the Mercer County Sheriff's Office in late fall, K-9 Randy, a German shorthaired pointer, has satisfied the expectations of Sheriff Doug Timmerman, who is still contemplating adding more narcotic-sniffing dogs in the future to replace an obsolete body scanner.
ROCKFORD - Village councilors at a special meeting Thursday approved appointing Loren Shindeldecker as the village's temporary police chief while the village continues its job search.
ELIDA - It is not always pretty, but tournament basketball is not a beauty contest. Despite Minster shooting 35% from the field, a dominant display on the glass and the defensive end helped the Wildcats pick up a 61-41 win over Upper Scioto Valley in Thursday's Division VII district semifinal.
