The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

In Loving Memory of Donald F. Meyer
Born: 10/04/1938 - Died: 03/06/2026
Donald Meyer, aged 87, passed away peacefully at home in The Villages, Fl. on March 6th, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was a devoted husband of 61 years, loving father, proud grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was defined by hard work, dedication, and deep love for his family.
As a young man, he served in the Army Reserve and later built a long and successful sales career at Murphy Pontiac in Troy, Ohio and White Allen Honda-Chevrolet in Dayton where his strong work ethic, determination, and commitment to serving others earned him both respect and lasting relationships.
His involvement in the local community included ushering at St. Patrick's Catholic Church and supporting his children's extracurricular activities. Providing for his family was one of his greatest accomplishments and a responsibility he carried with pride.
He also had a lifelong appreciation for automobiles and enjoyed following the latest models and sharing conversations about the cars he admired. At home, he took great pride in keeping his house clean and orderly, creating a space that reflected his sense of care and responsibility.
Don & his wife, Patricia retired to The Villages, Florida over 20 years ago to enjoy the warmer weather, make new friends and enjoy an occasional round of golf. They also enjoyed coming back to hometown Troy, Ohio to visit with extended family & friends over the years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia, brother-in-law Dick Broerman, his 3 children, Bill, Tim & Cheryl, 4 grandchildren, Megan, Eric, Dylan & Tyler and his 2 great-grandchildren, Kinsley & Cruz.
He is also survived by his brother, Ken, sister-in-law, Carol and many friends who will miss him dearly.
There will be a short Memorial service at Riverside Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Oh. Saturday, June 13t at 1:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Life in the Bravo room (Hobart Arena) at 2:00 pm.
His legacy of love, perseverance, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew him.
