The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Gerald Braun
Gerald L. "Duey" Braun, age 81, of Celina, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026, surrounded by family at the home of his loving granddaughter, Samantha.
He was born on October 30, 1944, in Celina to the late Anthony and Margaret (Fleenor) Braun. On July 25, 1969, he married Ruth (Heppeard) Braun, who survives at their home in Celina.
In addition to his wife, Duey is survived by his children, Travis (Michelle) Braun of Celina and Amanda Braun-Ringo (Ryan Jarrett) of Celina; nine grandchildren, Taylor, Emily, Natalie, Padraig, Tristen, Dalton, Hudson, Samantha, and Harper; two great-grandchildren, Brantley and Axel; and his cherished dog, Sophie.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ronald, Michael, and Steven Braun.
Duey was a 1963 graduate of Coldwater High School and attended Miami Jacobs College. He proudly served his country in the Ohio National Guard. He retired from Minster Machine Company after 44 years of dedicated service as a machinist.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater and Celina VFW Post #5713.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Duey loved his family deeply and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He never knew a stranger and was known for his friendly nature and warm personality. He enjoyed driving his Corvette with Ruth, working around the house, and spending time outdoors. He never missed attending his grandchildren's events. He and Ruth also enjoyed horseback riding, camping, and sharing his love of cars.
A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Matt Overman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
