The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Ron Zumberge
Ron A. Zumberge, age 71, of Arlington, Texas (formerly of Chickasaw, Ohio), passed away unexpectantly on March 24, 2026 at Arlington City Hospital.
He was born on February 5, 1955 to the late Nicholas and Adella Zumberge.
He is survived by his former wife, Melissa, and their daughter Paige (Erika) Vigil-Zumberge.
Stepdaughters Alexis Munoz Cardona and Brittany Duff; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He is also survived by siblings Mary Wilker, St. Marys, Ohio, Rita and Tom McEldowney, Greenville, Ohio, Marlene and Howard Bruggeman, Maria Stein, Ohio, Tom and Trygvie Zumberge, Curtice, Ohio, Karen Zumberge, Coldwater, Ohio and Sharon and Jerry Siegrist, Chickasaw, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by siblings and in-laws Dorothy Zumberge, James Zumberge, Rita (Noll) Zumberge and Charles Wilker.
A skilled salesman by trade, Ron was known for his ability to connect with people and didn't know a stranger. His warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on those who crossed his path.
Outside of work, he found joy in woodworking, going to NASCAR races, hunting and supporting the Texas Rangers baseball team.
And when he came for visits to Ohio, he was sure to spend time with his family and many friends.
A memorial service will be held in Arlington, Texas in late April.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Ohio on Sunday, May 17 at the Maria Stein Legion. Further details will be shared at a later time.
