The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Ohio has a fishing license for every type of angler

CELINA - Crappie are definitely spawning in Grand Lake, according to at least one Mercer County official, but before reaching for a fishing pole and heading out to a favorite fishing hole, make sure you first have a fishing license.

CELINA - The Mercer County Emergency Management Agency, with the financial assistance of a local civic organization, will distribute 100 weather alert radios to enhance awareness about dangerous conditions and developments that pose a threat to the public.
GREENVILLE - A 22-year-old volunteer firefighter accused of killing his employer, setting her rural Ansonia home on fire, then responding to the scene as a first responder, pleaded not guilty to murder and arson charges Thursday in Darke County Common Pleas Court.
CELINA - A 42-year-old St. Marys man was sentenced to probation this week for a strangulation crime in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
Donald R. Cordray III was sentenced to five years of community control sanctions on one count of strangulation, a fourth-degree felony.
