The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Eileen Zimmerman
Eileen (Wiswasser) Zimmerman died June 28, 2026 at Grande Lake Healthcare Center. She was born in Lima on May 14 , the only daughter of the late Albert and Viola (Easterly) Wiswasser. On December 11, 1945, she married Morris Zimmerman and they shared 48 years together until his death on Thanksgiving Day, November 1997.
Surviving are her daughter: Joann (Dan) Hegemier, 3 grandchildren, Mark (Amanda) Hegemier, Joe Hegemier, and Maggie (Brad) Halbert. Also eight great grandchildren, Avrie, Cameron, Ashton, Addison, Everett, Mara, Bennett, and Wyatt.
Eileen was a 1944 graduate of St Marys Memorial High School. She started elementary school walking to a one room school house and later attended the new Noble Elementary school for 7th and 8th grades.
She lived the majority of her life living on a farm north of St Marys when she was growing up as well as throughout her married life. She was an excellent seamstress and crafter of many talents.
Eileen was a life long member of Zion Lutheran Church. She volunteered many years working in the gift shop at Joint Township Hospital. She also enjoyed spending many years as secretary of the St Marys Hobby Club.
Service will be Wednesday, July 1, at Miller Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High, Saint Marys at 4:00 pm. Viewing 1 hour prior to service.
