The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Sandra Stickan
Former New Bremen resident, Sandra Kay Stickan, 60, of Bryan, died at 2:32 p.m. Aug. 15, 2006, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 12, 1946, in Sidney, to Jacob W. and Dottie S. Schmidt Boesel. On June 1, 2004, she married Steven L. Stickan, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Douglas (Vicie) Bitler, Springfield; a daughter, Debra (Jeff) Lehman, Bryan; a sister, Constance Frericks, Minneapolis, Minn.; and five grandchildren.
After 25 years she retired as a media aide for Montpelier High School. She instituted a drug and alcohol program in the school system and remained the facilitator. She was a member of Zion Methodist Church, Butler, Ind., and was a 1964 New Bremen High School graduate.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier, the Rev. Saneta Mhache officiating. Burial is at Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
Calling is 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
