The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Leon Lechleiter
Leon J. "Spike" Lechleiter, 76, 212 Hillcrest Drive, Coldwater, died at 6:20 p.m. Aug. 30, 2006, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana. Death was due to a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 5, 1930, in St. Rose, to Julius and Sophia Imwalle Lechleiter. On Sept. 5, 1955, he married Kathryn Mescher, who survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Deb (Ken) Stienecker, Coldwater, Terri (Gary) Knapke, Maria Stein, Shelli (Jay) Kremer, St. Henry, and Julie (Roger) Rose, Cranberry Prairie; a sister, Mary Ann, Coldwater; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Roman, Linus and Leroy; and two grandchildren.
He was currently employed part-time at Pax Machine, Coldwater. He previously worked at New Idea, Matt Schwieterman Inc., and Spring Creek Concrete. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Korea.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and its Men's Holy Name Society; American Legion Post 470, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5135 and charter member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3025, all of Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.  The Legion and VFW will conduct military services
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
