The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Edna Vanderhorst
Edna O. Vanderhorst, 83, a resident of Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community, St. Marys, died at 3:15 p.m. Oct. 19, 2006, at Otterbein St. Marys.
She was born Feb. 28, 1923, in Minster, to Aloyisus and Mary Moeller Schwieterman. On Oct. 24, 1942, she married Thomas Vanderhorst, who is deceased.
Survivors are two sons, Tom (Pat), Loganville, Ga., and Jim (Kris), St. Marys; three daughters, Carol (Ron) Jones, New Bremen, Theresa (Dennis) Seewer, St. Marys, and Jane, Cincinnati; a sister, Alma (Robert) Makley, St. Marys; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Richard Schwieterman; and three sisters, Leona Hinze, Millie McDermitt and Lucille Kettler.
She worked at Post Printing Company and was co-owner of Vanderhorst Cannery, St. Marys. She was a 1941 graduate of Minster High School and member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday at the church the Rev. James Seibert officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
Contributions can be made to State of the Heart Hospice or Otterbein Tree of Hope.
