The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Daniel Oen
Former Minster resident Daniel A. Oen, 87, of Albany, Ind., died at 12:35 a.m. Dec. 19, 2007, at Albany Nursing Home.
He was born May 8, 1920, in Wapakoneta, to Henry and Edith Fisher Oen. On July 7, 1945, he married Cleora "Tootie" Bensman, who died Aug. 14, 1987. On Sept. 1, 1989, he married Mildred Champ, who survives in Albany.
Other survivors are a son, Greg, Minster; three daughters, Ann (Mike) Timmerman, Fort Loramie, Sue (Ron) Homan, Coldwater, and Joyce (Mark) Johnson, Baltimore, Md.; two stepsons, David (Vivian) Champ, and Ronald (Mary Ann) Champ, Dunkirk, Ind.; five stepdaughters, Linda (Bud) Clark, Debra (Rodney) Kummer and Dianna (Bill) Bishop, all of Redkey, Ind., Marsha (Ronald) Fuller, Dunkirk, and Jean Bailey, Berne, Ind.; a brother, Louie, Phoenix, Ariz.; four sisters, Lavere Lyons and Bonnie (Joseph) Brockert, all of Lima, and Mary Ann Kohlrieser and Shirley (Paul) Hayzlett, all of Wapakoneta; 11 grandchildren, 13 stepgrandchildren, a great-grandchild and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Adrian; and two sisters, Ursula Thompkins and Collette Taylor.
He was a Sohio product distributor and worked at Taylor Glass in Lima before retiring from Crown Equipment Corp. in 1986. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II in the European Theatre and a member of American Legion, New Bremen, and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Minster. He also was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Friday and 9-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
