The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Eula Shaffer
Eula M. Shaffer, 71, died Dec. 19, 2007, at Van Wert Manor.
She was born Feb. 16, 1936, in Payne, to Eth H. and Gladys Trop Miller. On Oct. 1, 1971, she married Lloyd S. Shaffer, who died July 2, 1992.
Surviving are a son, John E. (Sandy) Dix, Paulding; two daughters, Sue (Dave) Kimmel, Rockford, and Ellen (John) Wycuff, Celina; a brother, Dean (Jeanette) Miller, Payne; two sisters, Doris Rodocker, Altoona, Fla., and Eva (Don) Barnes, Casa Grande, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She formerly was a secretary for the Paulding County Senior Center. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Defiance.
Services will be held at a later date.
Calling is 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding.
Contributions can be made to the Van Wert Manor Activity Fund or Paulding County Senior Center.
