The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Donald Ditmer
Donald D. Ditmer, 76, of Greenville, died at 5:44 p.m. June 5, 2008, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton.
He was born May 13, 1932, in Greenville to John Fredrick and Hazel Kathryn Gerber Ditmer. He was married to Georgia Lee Stoner for 50 years. She died Nov. 19, 2002. His second wife, Annette Washington, survives in Greenville.
Other survivors are, a daughter, Diana (Dennis) Fulmer, Celina; a brother, Jerry (Phyllis), Palm Bay, Fla.; and a sister, Maxine Baker, Greenville.
Deceased are four brothers, Floyd Robert, Charles Richard, Jake and Fritz; three sisters, Mary Helen Hathaway, Jean Bertram and Gayle Ann Goodrich.
He was credit manager for the former Treaty Company and Neff Lettering, both in Greenville, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Greenville, the Greenville Masonic Lodge Free & Accepted Masons and Masonic Craft Club, a 32nd degree member of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley and Antioch Shrine, both in Dayton, and the Darke County Shrine Club, where he was secretary-treasurer and hospital fund drive chairman.
Services were June 9, 2008, at the church, the Rev. Peter Menke officiating. Burial was at Greenville Cemetery.
Contributions can be made to the Shriner's Hospitals in care of the Darke County Shrine Club or the St. Paul Lutheran Church Landscape Action Team.
