The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Bertha Hoehne
Bertha Marlene Hoehne, 70, of E. Lane St., Fort Loramie, died at 5:09 p.m. August 4, 2008, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney.
She was born Jan. 4, 1938 in Sidney, to Louis and Henrietta Hilgefort Hoelscher. On April 19, 1958, she married Francis L. Hoehne, who survives.
Other survivors are three sons, Randy (Sandy), and Charles (Carol), all of Fort Loramie, and Steven (Laura), Findlay; five brothers, Albert (Lucille) Hoelscher, Cyril (Marilyn) Hoelscher, James (Judy) Hoelscher, all of Fort Loramie, Nicholas (Marlene) Hoelscher, Minster, and Nelson Hoelscher, Newport; three sisters, Juliana (Harold) Phlipot, Versailles, Armella Albers, McCartyville, and Doris Hoehne, Fort Loramie; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Hoelscher, Minster, and Mary Hoelscher, Lima; and six grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Jerome, Arnold and Paul Hoelscher; two brothers-in-law, Raymond Albers and Urban Hoehne; and a sister-in-law, Lucy Hoelscher.
She was a homemaker and a substitute at Fort Loramie School cafeteria, a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, where she was involved in the CCD program. She was a mass greeter, was active in the St. Ann's Ladies Sodality, and a member of Shelby County Right to Life.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie.
