The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

James Meckstroth
Former New Knoxville resident, James Lee Meckstroth, 60, died at 8:20 a.m. Aug. 5, 2008, at the Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster, where he had resided for five years. Death was due to cancer.
He was born Nov. 12, 1947, in Lima, to Leroy and Edith Duhme Meckstroth.
Survivors are a sister, Karen (Larry) Niemeyer, New Knoxville.
He retired from Crown Equipment Corp., New Bremen, where he worked in assembly. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, and New Knoxville Historical Society, and the Crown Equipment 25-Year Club, New Bremen.  
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday and after 9:30 Saturday at the Heritage Room of the church.
