The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Wayne C. Springer
Former Mendon resident Wayne C. Springer, 76, of Chesterfield, Mo., died Sept. 25, 2008, at his residence.
He was born July 7, 1932, in Mendon to Elza and Stella Springer. He married Imogene S. Clark, who survives.
Other survivors are two daughters, Tamara (Jeffrey) Jarboe, St. Louis, Mo., and Mary Ann (David) Robinson, Houston, Texas; a son, Philip (Stacy) of St. Louis; a brother, Clayton (Margaret) of Van Wert; and 11 grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Betty Fent, and a brother, Carl Springer.
He retired from Emerson Electric where he had been an engineer. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Bohomme Presbyterian Church, Chesterfield. Private burial is at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Ortman-Stipanovich Funeral Home, St. Louis, Mo.
