The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Eldred L. Kipp Sr.
Eldred L. "Bud" Kipp Sr., 90, 306 E. Main St., Anna, died at 1:35 a.m. Sept. 15, 2009, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney.
He was born April 26, 1919, near Botkins to Lewis and Luetta Henkener Kipp. On Nov. 7, 1942, he married Louella Brockriede, who survives.
Other survivors are his children, Eldred (Sally) Kipp Jr., Anna, Cheryl (Peter) Conidaris, Lima, John (Kathy) Kipp, Anna, Anna Saunders, Anna, and Betty (Charles) Steffeck, San Jose, Calif.; two sisters, Lola Shopp, Botkins and Lillian Motsinger, Sidney; nineteen grandchildren and thirty-seven great grandchildren.
Deceased is an infant sister Helen Kipp.
He retired from farming and had also worked at the Henschen Industrial of Jackson Center and was a member of the Copeland Retirees. He was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Kettlersville, where he served as an elder of the church, was a past Van Buren Township Trustee and had served on the Van Buren Township Fire Department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WW II and was a lifetime member and past commander of the Heiland Post of the American Legion, Anna. He was a fifty-year member of the Hammer Lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons of Wapakoneta and the Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley, Dayton, a member of the Hawthorne Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, St. Marys, the Fraternal Order of Eagles both in Wapakoneta and Minster, the New Bremen Rod and Gun Club and also the New Bremen Senior Citizens.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at the Immanuel United Church of Christ, Kettlersville, the Rev. Charles Moeller officiating. Burial will follow in the Schwaberow Cemetery, Kettlersville.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services at the church. Masonic services will be held on Friday evening at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to the Van Buren Twp. Fire Dept. or to the church memorial fund.
