The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Earl Stienecker
Earl W. Stienecker, 89, 116 N. Buckeye St., St. Marys died at 5:17 p.m. Sept. 14, 2009, at Adams County Hospital, Decatur, Ind.
He was born Nov. 24, 1919, in Auglaize County to Fred and Pearl Humpries Stienecker. On Oct. 12, 1946, he married Dolores Knatz, who died Dec. 31, 2006.
Surviving are two sons, Steve (Georgeann) Stienecker, New Knoxville, Dennis (Deborah) Stienecker, St. Marys; a brother-in-law, Bill Doseck, St. Marys; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Marjorie Doseck.
He retired after 40 years service at Midwest Electric Cooperative, where he was General Manager. He graduated in 1937 from St. Marys Memorial High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in WWII in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre near New Caledonia, New Zealand. He was a member of St. Marys Rotary Club, where he served as president, a former board member and Director of St. Marys Chamber of Commerce. He had been organizer and adviser to the Fuse Busters 4-H Club, a member of Zion Lutheran Church, St. Marys, where he served on the church vestry and was a former Sunday School superintendent. He was past treasurer of the Auglaize-Mercer County Visitors and Convention Bureau, served on the Auglaize County Board of MRDD, assisted in the construction of the Memorial Park Covered Bridge, St. Marys.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Bill Maki officiating. Burial is at Resthaven Memory Gardens, near Moulton.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
