The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Vonda McMichael
Vonda J. McMichael, 77, Spencerville, died at 6:29 p.m. Sept. 19, 2010, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born Sept. 12, 1933, in Salem Township, Auglaize County, to Clarence L. and G. Marcille Zimmerman Whetstone. On May 27, 1950, she married Max McMichael, who survives.
Also surviving are six children, Sue (Billie) Ford, Maxine McMichael and Roger (Deb) McMichael, all of Spencerville, Wayne (Pat) McMichael, Wapakoneta, Gary McMichael, Jacksonville, Fla., and Allen (Sally) McMichael, Spencerville; three siblings, Donelda (Jim) Roberts, Wapakoneta, Gene (Janet) Whetstone, Spencerville, and Neita (Gene) Border, Lima; a brother-in-law, Bill Morris, Spencerville; a sister-in-law, Eleanore Schuey, Lima; three nephews who they helped raise, Larry (Sharon) Seibert, Spencerville, Bob (Nancy) McMichael, Spencerville, and David (Cindy) McMichael, Mendon; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Edward Whetstone; a sister-in-law, Marty Morris; and a brother-in-law, Paul McMichael.
She was a 1951 graduate of Spencerville High School and worked on the family farms. She was a member of the Kossuth-Zion United Methodist Church, Spencerville FFA Alumni, Allen County Farm Service Association, former Ida Rebekah Lodge 391 and former Spencerville Grange 2424. She was the acting secretary of the Allen County Farmers Union and was the board of elections judge of the Spencerville Township precinct.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, the Revs. Raymond Daniel and Daniel Messner officiating. Burial is at Kossuth Cemetery in Salem Township.
Calling is 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
