The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Thomas Ainsworth
Thomas Hugh Ainsworth, 76, Ohio City, died at 6:52 p.m. July 19, 2011, shortly after arrival at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born May 9, 1935, in Liberty Township to Hugh V. and Martha Helen Wiseman Ainsworth. On Nov. 16, 1973, he married Marilyn Joan Gallant, who survives.
Also surviving are sons, Thomas J. (Vickie) Ainsworth, Wren, and Bruce E. Ainsworth, Fort Wayne, Ind.; daughters, Jackie Ainsworth, Ohio City, and Sharon Ainsworth, Van Wert; a stepson, Mike (Shawn) Fickert, Middle Point; brothers, Edwin Ainsworth and Mark (Deborah) Ainsworth, all of Ohio City; sisters, Norma Jean Bowen, Sue (Leroy) Ernie and Annie (Bill) Carr, all of Ohio City; eight grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Roger Hugh Ainsworth; a brother, John David Ainsworth; a sister, Donna Lea Ainsworth; and in-laws, Portia Ainsworth and Ray Bowen.
He retired as a service technician for West Ohio Gas Company after 42 years service. A 1954 graduate from Ohio City-Liberty High School, he was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Ohio City, for more than 50 years. He was a 50-year member of Eureka Lodge, F&AM, Ohio City, and a former member of Ohio National Guard, Spencerville, and Roll-In Sams of Van Wert.
Service is 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, the Rev. Denise Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Saturday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, and one hour prior to service Sunday at the church. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
