The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Ruth Casanova
Ruth L. Wollam Casanova, 84, of Douglassville, Pa., and formerly of Norton, died Oct. 30, 2011, at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 23, 1927, in Hood River, Ore., to Harry and Gail Hamilton Wollam. She married Gilbert Casanova, who is deceased.
Surviving is a sister, Mary (Gilbert) Misplon, Bellefontaine.    Deceased is a son, Michael Magier.
She was a 1944 graduate of Mendon-Union High School and earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri and a master's degree in special education from Kent State University.
She worked as a special education teachers for 28 years at Stow City School District in Stow. She was editor for the American Legion Newsletter at the Akron post and received many awards for her work.
Service will be private at the convenience of the family. A private burial will take place in Hamilton Bethel Cemetery, Union Township.
Arrangements are by Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, where condolences may be left at millerfuneralhome.net.
