The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Priscilla Garman
Priscilla M. Garman, 83, Chickasaw, died Jan. 8, 2012, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.
She was born Feb. 17, 1928, in St. Sebastian to Aloys and Josephine Wolters Hein. On July 28, 1954, she married Norbert L. Garman, who survives in Chickasaw.
Also surviving are children, Steve (Robin) Garman, Chickasaw, Deb (Rod) Poziwilko, Bois D'Arc, Mo., Sue Wehrman, Piqua, Bill (Jean) Garman, Maria Stein, Bob (Debbie) Garman, St. Henry, and Becky (Steven) Olberding, Minster; siblings, Mark (Irene) Hein, Fort Recovery, and Margie Bertke, Celina; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are brothers, Jim and Dennis and brother-in-law, Don Bertke.
She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, Chickasaw, and the Ladies Sodality of the church. She was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Chickasaw, and American Legion Auxiliary, Maria Stein. A homemaker, she was a retired Chickasaw news reporter for local papers including The Daily Standard.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Gene Schnipke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
