The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Jean Ackley
Former St. Marys resident Jean Ackley, 78, died at 5:10 p.m. Jan. 9, 2012, at the Gardens of Celina, where she was a resident.
She was born Aug. 21, 1933, in St. Marys, to Harry and Elizabeth Moeller Boltz. She married Cloyd Ackley, who died March 10, 1967.
Surviving are five children, Laura (Dan) Leonard, Celina, Spike (Brenda) Ackley, St. Marys, David Ackley, St. Marys, Shawn (Kerri) Ackley, St. Marys, and Becky Ernst, Coldwater; siblings, Louis Boltz, St. Marys, Mary Ann Brotherwood, St. Marys, and Jane Boltz, St. Marys; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four siblings, Harry Boltz Jr., William Boltz, Louise McDermitt and Esther Boltz, and four great-grandchildren.
A 1951 graduate of Memorial High School, St. Marys, she had worked at Wapak Products and the St. Marys Armory. He was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Lord's Church, Celina.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Randy Christian officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Mercer County Hospice. Condolences may be left at millerfuneralhomes.net.
