The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

David Meiring
David J. "SPC" Meiring, 57, 69 N. Main St., Minster, died at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 18, 1954, in Coldwater, to Roland "Mort" and Delores (Vehorn) Meiring. His mother survives in Minster.
Also surviving are three siblings, Marge Meiring, Minster; Lynn and (Jerry) Bergman, Minster, and Jim (Vickie) Meiring, Minster.
He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. He also was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and The Orphan Society at the church and sponsored children through "A Child's Fund."
He worked at Minster Machine for 40 years.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster. Burial is at St. Augustine Cemetery.
