The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Betty Jean Brockman
Betty Jean Brockman, 83, Fort Recovery, died Aug. 13, 2012, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born Aug. 28, 1928, in St. Henry, to Harry and Pauline Albers Bergman. On July 10, 1948, she married Cyril "Cy" Brockman, who died Jan. 5, 2009.
Surviving are five sons, Cy Jr. (Linda) Brockman, Mike Brockman, Mitch Brockman and Jim (Pat) Brockman, all of Fort Recovery, and Joe (Pat) Brockman, Portland, Ind.; two daughters, Vicky (Roger) Knapke, Coldwater, and Brenda (Mark) Eichenauer, Fort Recovery; three brothers, Melvin (Peg) Bergman, Fort Recovery, Jack (Jean) Bergman, St. Henry, and Floyd (Joan) Bergman, Fort Recovery; two sisters, Marjorie Vogel, Coldwater, and Elsie (Roscoe) Timmerman, Fort Recovery; three sisters-in-law, Kathryn Bergman, Mercedes Bergman and Lillian Brockman, all of Fort Recovery; 23 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Ruth Finch; four brothers, Ralph, Bob, Walter and Lavern Bergman; and a brother-in-law, Vernon Brockman.
She formerly worked at Brockman Funeral Home, Brockman Furniture and Brockman Appliances, all of Fort Recovery.
A 1946 graduate of Fort Recovery High School, she was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, its Altar Sodality, the American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Daughters of Isabella Circle 810, all of Fort Recovery, and the Catholic Knights of America, St. Joe.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
