The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Virgil Barhorst
Virgil E. Barhorst, 91, Fort Loramie, died at 6 p.m. Nov. 7, 2012, at his home.
He was born Aug. 16, 1921, in Fort Loramie to Anthony and Josephine DeBross Barhorst. On Nov. 3, 1951, he married Catherine "Katie" Helmstetter, who died Jan. 11, 2010.
Surviving are his children, Tim (Barbara) Barhorst, Yellow Springs, Deb (Tom) Millhouse, New Bremen, Terry Barhorst, Cincinnati, Patrick (Thecla) Barhorst, Minster, and Tom (Fran) Barhorst, Fort Loramie; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Also deceased are his siblings, Irenus Barhorst, Robert Barhorst, Raymond Barhorst, Agnes Behr, Margaret Monnin, Frances Wagner and Ann Maltinsky.
He belonged to St. Michael Catholic Church and American Legion, both of Fort Loramie, and Fraternal Order of Eagles 1391 of Minster. He served in Japan during WWII and was retired from Marwil Products, Fort Loramie.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup celebrant. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Memorials may be given to Wilson Hospice.
