The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Marian Smith
Marian I. Smith, 89, Wapakoneta, died peacefully at 12:15 p.m. June 24, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 5, 1923, in Buckland, to Oscar and Vera Stout Sprague. On Feb. 6, 1944, in Philadelphia, Pa., she married Thomas A. Smith, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, David M. (Teresa) Smith of Wapakoneta; a daughter, Luanne (John) Brown of Lincoln, Neb.; five grandchildren, Christine (Mike) Enderud, Kendra Hunter, Carrie (Michael) Daniel, Scott (Linda) Brown and Katie Brown; seven great-grandchildren, Jessica Enderud, Bailey Enderud, Dylan Strauss, Emma Strauss, Ian Brown, Owen Brown and Evan Daniel; a sister, Maxine (Jon) Spyker of Bradenton, Fla.; and a brother-in-law, Fred (Lucille) Smith of Fostoria.
She was a graduate of Buckland High School in 1940 and attended business college. She was a homemaker. Her memberships include Wayne Street United Methodist Church and Mothers' Study Club in St. Marys, Order of Eastern Star (past worthy matron) in Spencerville and St. Marys, and VFW and American Legion auxiliaries, both in Spencerville.
She enjoyed traveling, playing cards (especially the game of bridge), playing the piano and ballroom dancing. She was a cultured, sophisticated woman and a true supporter of the arts. She was extremely loyal to her circle of close friends. Above all, the most important thing in her life was her family.
A Celebration of Life service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home in St. Marys, High Street Chapel, the Rev. Steve Weatherly officiating. Burial will follow at Spencerville Cemetery in Spencerville.
Calling is 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the ABC Center in New Bremen or the Cancer Association of Auglaize County.
