The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Ronald Meier
Ronald L. Meier, 43, Maria Stein, died at 3 p.m. Jan. 10, 2014, at his parents' home.
He was born March 18, 1970, in Coldwater, to Larry and Mary Jane Beckman Meier, who both survive in Maria Stein. On March 7, 1998, in Egypt, he married Jane Meyer, who also survives in Maria Stein.
Other survivors include four children, Austin, Grant, Darren and Danielle Meier, all at home; four sisters, Lynn (Larry) Hemmelgarn, Kelly (Ben) Kuether, Sandy (Jesse) Ranly, all of Maria Stein, and Beth (Blair) Lammers, New Knoxville; a mother-in-law, Phyllis Poeppelman, Egypt; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tim (Karen) Magoto, Ft. Loramie, Barb (Scott) Gaier, Anna, Greg (Krista) Meyer, Anna, Mark (Kate) Will, Fort Recovery, Mark (Amy) Poeppelman, Egypt, Carol (Tim) Will, Egypt, and Steve Poeppelman, Minster.
He was preceded in death by a father-in-law, John Meyer, stepfather-in-law, Clem Poeppelman, brother-in-law, Jerry Meyer, and sister-in-law, Kathy Will.
He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, St. Rose, where he was an usher and past president of the parish council. He was a trustee for the Knights of St. John, a Marion Local Athletic Boosters officer and a past member of Marion Young Farmers. He was an active farmer, loved playing with his kids and was an avid Marion Local and Ohio State football fan.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Catholic Church, Maria Stein, with The Rev. Tom Brenberger officiating. Burial will follow in St. Rose Cemetery, St. Rose.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. today and 9-9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Henry Bank for a fund for his children's education.
