The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Vera Nolan
Vera I. Nolan, 95, St. Marys, died at 1:45 p.m. May 2, 2014, at St. Marys Living Center.
She was born June 17, 1918, in Wells County, Ind., to Wilbert and Della Zuercher Beer. On Sept. 21, 1940, she married Richard Nolan, who died Feb. 18, 1983.
Surviving are three daughters, Rita (Thomas) Wilson, Elida, Patti (Ken) Loughrige-Gelhaus, Celina, and Jean (Alan) Rohrbacher, Elida; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Clem, Decatur, Ind.
Deceased are her parents; husband; and siblings, Glenn Beer, Harriet Beer, Margie Buick, Verna Feasal, Agnes Beer, Chester Beer, Arthur Beer, Gerald Beer, Dale Beer and Melvena Hirschy.
She was a homemaker. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She truly was a Christian example to all that knew her. She was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St. Marys, and its Women's Society. She also was a member of the St. Marys Senior Citizens and Joint Township District Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She had previously been employed at Bi-Rite in St. Marys. She enjoyed bowling with her friends and liked to sew and quilt.
Services are 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Steve Weatherly officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Monday and on hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be given to Grand Lake Hospice.
