The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Peter Mangen
Peter E. Mangen, 96, Versailles, passed away at 10:41 p.m. Jan. 21, 2015, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 1, 1919, in Darke County, to John F. and Ida F. Subler Mangen. On Sept. 7, 1940, he married Dorothy E. McEldowney, who survives.
Also surviving are seven children, Mary E. Knight, Beavercreek, Edward F. (Sandra) Mangen, Beavercreek, William L. (Anne) Mangen, Celina, Robert J. (Janice) Mangen, Huber Heights, Vickie A. (Ted) Hollinger, Morrow, Jeffrey T. "Smoke" Mangen, Versailles, and Janice M. (John) Kaeck, Piqua; 13 grandchildren, Jay Knight, Eric Knight, John Mangen, Greg (Jennifer) Mangen, Melissa (Brian) Gerlach, Rachel (Shad) Toney, Teresa (Ken) Robinson, Kim Davidson, Erin (Michael) Jordan, Brian (Amy) Shappie, Jenna Hollinger, Ben (Kara) Shappie and Alex Shappie; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Treon, Versailles; a sister-in-law, Marcella Schafer, Beavercreek; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two sons-in-law, Jerry Knight and Scott Shappie; two brothers, Paul J. Mangen and Francis P. Mangen; and two sisters, Mary C. Schulze and Josephine Rarick.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from General Motors, Dayton, where he worked for 42 years. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, and was a life member of the Versailles VFW and American Legion. He was a Golden Eagle member of the Versailles Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2347.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, the Rev. James Simons officiating. Burial with military honors conducted by the Versailles Veterans Honor Guard will follow at St. Valbert Cemetery, Versailles.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles.
Memorials may be given to the Versailles Veterans Honor Guard.
