The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Shirley Hoelscher
Shirley E. Hoelscher, age 81, of Celina, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 at her residence.
Born on February 26, 1936 in Mendon, she was the daughter of the late H. Glenn Sheets and Evelyn (Rexroth) Sheets.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Michael F. Hoelscher, whom she married on January 27, 1960. Shirley and Mike spent 57 wonderful years together.
She is also survived by 5 children: Sheryl (Phil) Borger of Franklin, Tonita (Bob) Phipps of Celina, Bill (Amy) Hoelscher of Walla Walla, WA, and Mary Lynn (Kevin) Meyer and Kurt Hoelscher of Celina, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a lifelong friend, Shirley Roebuck of Celina.
Preceding her in death were 2 brothers, Rex (Marilyn) Sheets and Gary Sheets, and two granddaughters.
Shirley was a wonderful woman and homemaker. An animal lover, Shirley had many pets over the years, but had a particularly strong bond with her dog, "Rocky."
Shirley and Mike enjoyed traveling together, especially trips on their Harley-Davidson. For two weeks of every year, they traveled by motorcycle making trips to nearly every state. An avid Bingo player, Shirley also enjoyed a variety of cards and games, and was fond of completing difficult jigsaw puzzles.
As a past member of the Mercer County Genealogical Society, she had served as an at-large board member for the group. She had attended Mendon-Union High School, and worked at Huffy Bicycles in Celina, and then at the Leshner Corp. Cotton Mill in St. Marys. Shirley was co-founder, along with her husband Mike, of H&S Company, Inc. of Celina, and served as financial officer of the business.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 9 at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina. Pastors Randy Christian and Debra Domeier will officiate. Burial will follow at Neptune Cemetery.
Calling Hours are 2-4 & 6-8:00 PM, Tuesday, August 8 at the Funeral Home in Celina.
Memorial Contributions may be made to The Animal Protective League of Mercer County, Open Arms Rescue, or State of the Heart Care.
