The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Pastor M. Jeannie McLaughlin
Pastor M. Jeannie McLaughlin, 73, of St. Marys, OH died 11:20 a.m. Sunday August 20, 2017 at Otterbein-St. Marys.
She was born June 19, 1944 in Celina, OH to Jasper William and Bertha R. (Burden) Deckman.
She is survived by: husband Marvin McLaughlin of St. Marys, OH, daughter Annette Alexander of St. Marys, OH, daughter Bernette Newbauer of St. Marys, OH, daughter Claudette Snyder of St. Marys, OH, son Michael Stephens of St. Marys, OH, son Anthony (Stacey) Stephens of St. Marys, OH, step-children: Shawn P. McLaughlin, Scott (Jennifer) McLaughlin, Carlton (Rita) Stephens, Carl (Sue) Stephens, Ginger (Larry) Rogers, Cherie (Jeff) Butcher, Pamela Sherman, 22 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren (and another expected blessing) brother William Deckman of St. Marys, OH.
Preceded in death by: father Jasper William Deckman; mother Bertha Deckman-Hammond; son William "Spank" Chaffins; granddaughter Jessica Chaffins; step-father Bennie Hammond; friend and spiritual mentor Rev. Bonnie Sanders
She was employed at JTDM Hospital in St. Marys for many years as a nursing assistant and ward clerk. She had previously worked at Mersman Bros. in Celina. She served as associate pastor of Living Faith Ministries in rural Mendon, OH.Her favorite pastimes included jigsaw puzzles, singing and helping others.
Rites are scheduled to begin 10:30 a.m. Thursday August 24, 2017 at Living Faith Ministries 00964 Barber-Werner Road in Mendon, OH. Pastor Steve Coburn will officiate the services. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, adjacent to the church.
Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys.
