The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

George Fleckenstein
George A. Fleckenstein, age 87, of Burkettsville, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 at Versailles Health Care Center, Versailles. He was born May 6, 1930 in Anna, to George J. & Rose (Daniels) Fleckenstein. On August 24, 1952 he married Mary Jane (Stammen) Fleckenstein, and she died October 6, 2007.
George is survived by his children: Ron & Ann Fleckenstein of Ft. Recovery, and Roger & Teresa Fleckenstein of Versailles, his grandchildren, Albert Fleckentstein, Amy & Rob Burden, Jesse and Kimberly Fleckentstein, and three great grandchildren, Austin, Brittany, and Hunter Burden. He is also survived by one brother Herb & Rita Fleckentstein of Ft. Loramie, and in laws: Betty Stammen of Waynesfield, Tom Stammen of Cridersville, Phyllis & Ray Miller of Celina and Betty & Ken Werling of Celina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as siblings: Ed & Ethel Fleckentstein, Henry Fleckentstein, Evelyn & Alvin Bussee, Jim & Pat Fleckentstein, and in laws, Lavern & Marie Stammen, Clara Stammen, and Joe Stammen.
George was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of Coldwater Legion and Coldwater V.F.W. George was a graduate of Ft. Loramie High School. He formerly worked at Bohman Brothers in Sidney, and retired from Newport Auto Sales in Newport. He enjoyed cleaning and shining cars and spending time with his grandchildren and especially the great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 28, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
