The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Donald Kohnen
Donald John Kohnen, age 87, of Celina, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019, at Ohio Living-Quaker Heights Care Community in Waynesville, OH.
He was born Nov. 8, 1931, in Celina, to Henry & Rosemary (Pulskamp) Kohnen. On Sept. 2, 1952, he married Klela F. (Strete) Kohnen, who died Sept. 8, 2007.
Surviving are 5 sons, Michael (Judy), Chesterfield, VA, Phil, Edgerton, Henry, Rocky Top, TN, William (Marie), Defuniak Springs, FL, and Joseph (Stacy), Defiance; 4 daughters, Melinda (Craig) Vaughn, Waynesville, Teresa (Tim) Wenning, Lima, M. Kathleen (Allan) Skiver, Defiance, and Rosemary Kohnen, Celina; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren.
Deceased are 2 brothers, Hank Kohnen and David Kohnen, 3 sisters, Mary Hart, Rosemary Wilkins, and Ruth Ann Vondrell, and a grandson, Andrew Kohnen.
Don was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War, and was employed as the bookkeeper at Wolff's Tire Service in Celina for most of his career. Don's favorite pastimes included fishing, bowling, and watching his favorite sports teams, the Buckeyes and the Reds.
Calling is 3-7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 8, and 9-10:15 a.m., Monday, Sept. 9, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina.
A Funeral Mass is at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 9, at Immaculate Conception Church in Celina, with Fr. Timothy McFarland, C.PP.S., presiding. Following the service, Military Rites will be conducted at the church by members of Celina V.F.W. Post #5713 and American Legion Post #210. Burial will take place at a later date at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
Memorial Donations may be made to Ohio Living-Quaker Heights Care Community, Waynesville, OH, or Crossroads Hospice, Cincinnati OH.
The family would like to extend their appreciation for the excellent care and counseling received from these organizations over the past five years.
