The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Barbara Combs
Barbara J. Combs, 88, of Saint Marys, Ohio, died 3:50 A.M. Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community.
She was born February 8, 1936, in Saint Marys, the daughter of Rollo and Stella (Millisor) Roebuck. She married Bruce Combs on March 26, 1980, and he survives in Saint Marys.
She is survived by her children: Joni (Craig) Huwer of Saint Marys; Gregg (Kathy) Dieringer of Saint Marys; Mike Dieringer of Saint Marys; Julie Dieringer of Saint Marys; by a step-son, Bryan (Kim) Combs of Somerset, Kentucky; by 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; by a son-in-law, Dan Kennedy of the Villages, Florida; by a former daughter-in-law, Sandy Dieringer of Saint Marys.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her daughter, Vicky Kennedy; by her siblings: Mary Helen Huwer; Gail Chenoweth; Billy Roebuck.
Barb was a 1954 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. She was the former co-owner of Varsity Lanes in Saint Marys, and had previously worked as a bookkeeper at Omni Manufacturing.
She was a member of Wayne Street Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, bowling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral rites will be held 12:00 on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, the Reverend Tim Benjamin, officiant. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. til noon on Thursday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
