The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Helen Bergman
Helen D. Bergman, age 101, of Celina, Ohio, passed away at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys on February 19, 2025, with loving family by her side.
She was born on April 28, 1923, in St. Henry to the late, Farry and Cecelia (Schmalstig) Borger. On September 23, 1950, she married Victor Bergman at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2017.
She is survived by a sister, Mildred (Louis) Homan of Dayton; a sister-in-law, Beatrice Borger, St. Marys; a brother-in-law, John Birkmeyer, Celina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three brothers, Alfred (Dorothy) Borger, Gerald (Elizabeth) Borger and Louis Borger; and sisters Roselyn Birkmeyer and Lucille (Urban) Berning.
She was also preceded in death by her parents-in-law, John (Bernadina) Bergman and brothers and sisters-in-laws, Aloys, Clarence, Norbert (Viola) Bergman and Elizabeth (Benedict) Keller, Rosemary (Norbert) Brunswick, and Rosalinda (Norbert) Siefring.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society. Helen was a talented seamstress, cook, baker, and card player. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She was known for her warm and welcoming nature.
Visitation hours will be from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina.
Mass of Christian burial and the celebration of her life will begin at 10:30 am on Monday February 24, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, with Fr. Rob Muhlenkamp officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday morning, from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina.
Burial will follow at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
