The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Mary Lou Menchhofer
Mary Lou Menchhofer, age 89, of Celina, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025, at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
She was born August 2, 1935, in Boonville, Missouri, a daughter of the late Ernest H. "Pete" and LaVera (Dickson) Angerman. Mary Lou was married to Lyle E. Menchhofer, who preceded her in death on January 25, 1987.
Mary Lou had three sons: Greg Menchhofer (Maria Suhr) of Celina, Jerry Menchhofer, who passed away July 12, 2016, and Brian (Tammy) Menchhofer, who survives in Fort Wayne.
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Cory (Cassandra) Menchhofer, Tyler (Cassie) Menchhofer, Derek Menchhofer, Meghan (Phil) Ottah, Kendra (Brian Dammeyer) Menchhofer, Kaleb (Jess) Menchhofer, Andrew (Chelsea) Menchhofer, Caitlyn (Zach Hembree) Menchhofer, Brooke (Todd) Knote, Braedon Menchhofer, Brody Menchhofer, many great-grandchildren, and her siblings: William L. Angerman, Patricia A. (Estel) Hipp and Bonnie K. (Terry) Gwin.
Mary Lou graduated from Shawnee Mission High School in Overland Park, Kansas, and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and Alpha Delta Omega (ADO) Sorority in Celina. Favorite activities for Mary Lou were eating salmon, drinking wine, and listening to dance music. She enjoyed Women's League Bowling at Plaza Lanes and playing cards. A cat lover, Mary Lou took excellent care of her pets.
Calling Hours will be held at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, on Friday, March 7, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, with a Memorial Service to begin at 12:30.
