The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Bernard Dietz
Bernard J. Dietz, 79, 8 S. Eastmoor Drive, New Bremen, died Sept. 2, 2006, at St. Marys Living Center, St. Marys.
He was born Jan. 5, 1927, in Lima, to John S. and Florence Steinke Dietz. On Aug. 1, 1953, he married Dorothy L. Welsh, who died April 8, 2003.
Survivors are a brother, Donald, Celina; and three sisters, Mary (Mark) Heinfeld, New Bremen, Dolores (Paul) Weinstock, Maplewood, and Betty (Gary) Lovett, Lakeview. One brother Henry Dietz is deceased.
He retired in 1989 from Crown Equipment Corp., New Bremen and had previously worked at the former Stamco, New Bremen. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 241, New Bremen.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, the Rev. Stephen Wills officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is after noon at the funeral home.
