The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Sharon Sloan
Celina native Sharon D. Sloan, 63, of Kettlersville, died at 1:30 p.m. May 16, 2008, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster.
She was born Nov. 30, 1944, in Celina, to Albert E. Brotherwood and Betty J. Dunlap, and was raised by her grandparents, John "Jack" and Ada Brotherwood. Her stepmother, Wilma Brotherwood, survives in St. Marys. On July 20, 1963, she married Charles W. Sloan, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Robert, Beavercreek, and David, Kettlersville; four daughters, Cheri (Randy) Scheer, New Bremen, Donna Loggains, Greenville, Bonnie Jo Rhoads, Jackson Center, and Barbara Sloan, Kettlersville; three brothers, Donald (Mary Ann) Brotherwood, Robert (Pamula) Brotherwood and John (Rosie) Brotherwood, all of St. Marys; three sisters, Grace (Jack) Ball, Connie (Lynn) Wentz and Delores (Charles) Miller, all of St. Marys; and seven grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Ruth Ann Sloan; and a sister, Caroline Lunz.
She was a homemaker. She attended Immanuel United Church of Christ in Kettlersville, and was a former member of the Kettlersville-Van Buren Fire Dept. Auxiliary.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Charles Moeller officiating. Burial is at the Schwaberow Cemetery, Kettlersville.
Calling is 3-8 P.M. Tuesday and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
Contributions can be made to Grand Lake Home Health and Hospice, St. Marys.
Arrangements are being handled by Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen.
