The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

James Siegel
James L. Siegel, 72, Fort Loramie, died July 31, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 10, 1940, in Minster, to Clifford and Mary Fortman Siegel. On Feb. 20, 1963, he married Linda Vogelsang, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Jim (Sue) Siegel, Fort. Loramie, Dan (Kim) Siegel, Minster, and Amy (Doug) Goubeaux, Fort Loramie; four siblings, Patricia Muter, St. Marys, Dorothy (Maurice) Quinter, Fort Loramie, Gerald (Marilyn) Siegel, New Bremen, and Michael (Jaylene) Siegel, New Bremen; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Joanne (Ted) Gaier, Fort Loramie, Carl (Susanne) Gigandet, Mansfield, David (Helen) Hoying, Fort Loramie, and Scott (Beth) Siepel, Urbana; and five grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Larry Siegel; a brother-in-law, Dussel Muter; and a granddaughter.
He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, and the Minster Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #1391.
He retired from Midmark Corp. in Versailles in 2005, where he had been a welder for 42 years. After retirement he was a Fort Loramie football field maintenance volunteer.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
Memorials may be given to the Fort Loramie Rescue Squad.
