The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Sylvester Bruggeman
Sylvester W. Bruggeman, 93, St. Henry, died July 30, 2012, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
He was born Sept. 20, 1918, in Cranberry Prairie, to Herman and Philomena Gerlach Bruggeman. On July 19, 1947, he married Erma V. Fortkamp, who died Jan. 16, 1990.
Surviving are seven children, Pat (Jack) Moorman, Coldwater, Nick (Di) Bruggeman, St. Henry, Jerry (Dodie) Bruggeman, St. Henry, Jim (Alice) Bruggeman, Bryant, Ind., Dave Bruggeman, St. Henry, Judy (Jeff) Schwieterman, St. Henry, and Andy (Lori) Bruggeman, St. Henry; 21 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
Also deceased are a son, Randy Bruggeman, and six siblings, Hilda Everman, Alvira Everman, Raymond Bruggeman, Leo Bruggeman, Alvin Bruggeman and Esther Post.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Cranberry Prairie, and Chickasaw Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. He served as a private in the U.S. Army ATCO 63rd infantry regiment of the 6th infantry division during World War II.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Francis Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 8-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
