The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Gerald Homan
Gerald "Jake" Homan, 73, Fort Recovery, died Aug. 4, 2012, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney.
He was born March 8, 1939, in Celina, to Anthony and Ida Schulte Homan. On Oct. 19, 1963, he married Delores Heckman, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Dale (Jennifer) Homan, Fort Recovery, Keith (Patty) Homan, Fort Recovery, Ted (Alison) Homan, Fort Recovery, and Jason (Monica) Homan, Fort Recovery; two daughters, Pamela (Jonathan) Wehrkamp, Coldwater, and Sandy Homan, Columbus; six sisters, Janet (Jim) McEldowney, Versailles, Millie (Jim) Boehmer, Kettering, Eileen (Art) Dapore, Russia, Mary (Joe) Keller, Fort Recovery, Carolyn (Dave) Kreischer, Sidney, and Doris (Phil) Sheffer, Fort Recovery; one brother, Herb (Charlene), Homan, Fort Recovery; and 16 grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Daniel Homan, and two grandchildren.
He was a 1957 graduate of Fort Recovery High School and served in the Army Reserve. He was a farmer and retired from Minster Machine in Minster.
He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, and its Men's Sodality, the Burkettsville Fire Department and the Fort Site Antique Tractors club.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
Memorials may be given to Center of Neurological Development, Burkettsville.
