The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Fern Wermer
Fern E. Wermer, 90, Van Wert, died at 6:30 a.m. Feb. 16, 2015, at Hearth & Home of Van Wert.
She was born Jan. 20, 1925, in Willshire, to Cleo F. "C.F." and Avis (Baker) Ray, who are deceased. On Dec. 14, 1947, she married William "Bill" Wermer, who survives in Van Wert.
Also surviving are two children, Elizabeth (Richard) Heiby, Celina, and Alan (Nancy) Wermer, Saline, Mich.; three grandchildren, Ellyse Sites, Alex Heiby and Andrew Heiby; and three great-grandchildren, Owen Heiby, Elliott Heiby and Carson Sites.
Deceased is a sister, Esther Lampy.
She was a homemaker and had retired from Celina City Schools after 14 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Van Wert.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
