The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Kenneth Metzger
Kenneth J. Metzger, 86, 05680 Auglaize County Road 33A,St. Marys died at 7:15 p.m. Jan. 8, 2008, at the Valley Nursing Home in St. Marys.
He was born June 1, 1921, in rural Wapakoneta, to Clarence and Caroline Mosler Metzger. On Dec. 25, 1940, he married Treva Brodbeck, who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter, Cheryl (Robert "Buzz") Howard of St. Marys; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Paul Metzger; a sister, Louetta Morris; and a grandson.
He retired from Parker-Hannifin Corp. Cylinder Division, St. Marys, worked at the former St. Marys Woolen Mill and was a tailor. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, St. Marys, and was a leader for the Boy Scouts of America. He was a 1939 graduate of the former Blume High School, Wapakoneta.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Bill Maki officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Calling is 3-6 p.m. Friday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, High Street Chapel, in St. Marys, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
